10/24/14  2230hrs
Station 2 (Mansfield) was dispatched this evening at 2150hrs for the report of a structure fire at the corner of North Academy & Sherwood Streets in Mansfield Borough. Mansfield PD was on patrol when they discovered smoke from the building. A second alarm was transmitted bringing Stations 1 (Wellsboro) and 4 (Blossburg). Units from Mansfield knocked down the fire quickly, but due to building construction, the fire traveled through voids and required a massive overhaul to extinguish all of the fire. A special request was then made at 2230hrs for additional manpower including an engine company from Station 8. Engine 8-3 responded with a crew of 5. Units continued to work for the next few hours until clearing and returning to quarters at 0136 hours.
