MOCK SCHOOL SHOOTING DRILL

Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement agencies all joined together today to participate in a mock school shooting at the Williamson High School in Lawrence Township. Responders from Stations 8, 7 (Tioga), and 12 (Millerton), 1 (Wellsboro), 2 (Mansfield), 4(Blossburg) along with local PDs, PSP, and Stueben County Sheriff all came together to test the response plans and become better prepared for an event of this magnitude. A special thanks to all personnel involved and the Northern Tioga School District.

REPORTED GARAGE FIRE

Stations 7 (Tioga) and 18 (Nelson) were dispatched to a reported garage fire on the Millington Road in Farmington Township this morning. Due to a the details and a nearby road closure, mutual aid from Stations 8, 11 (Middlebury), and 17 (Chatham) was dispatched. Engine 8-3 with a crew of 5 responded. E7-3 and E18-3 arrived and reported nothing showing. A further investigation found a air compressor to have overheated causing a burning odor to fill the structure. All units were cancelled shortly after.

AUTO ALARM AT HMAC
 
07/15/13  1537hrs
Stations 8 and 7 (Tioga) were dispatched to Box 8-56 in Lawrence Township at HMAC for the report of an automatic fire alarm. Engine 8-3 with a crew of 5 responded. Enroute, E8-3 was advised that a supervisor on location was reporting an accidental activation and requested all units to cancel.

VEHICLE INTO A TREE
 
07/14/13  0335hrs
Station 8 was dispatched this morning to an MVC with the report of a vehicle striking a tree. The caller stated that they heard a noise and looked outside to see a vehicle into a tree. Engine 8-2 with 3 and Chief 8-20 (Strange) responded. C8-20 arrived in the area and reported that nothing was found. All units were recalled shortly after.

MUTUAL AID MVC WITH NELSON
 
07/13/13  0228hrs
Stations 18 (Nelson), 25 (Valley Amb), and 8 were dispatched to a 1 vehicle MVC with injuries on the Bottom Hill Road. Station 11 (Middlebury) was also dispatched for an ambulance. Engine 8-2, Squad 8-18, and Ambulance 8-6 all responded. Chief 18-20 arrived and reported 4 injuries total; 1 entrapped, 1 ejected, and 2 that were out of the vehicle. E8-2 arrived and went to work assisting E18-3 with extrication of the entrapped patient. The crew from Sq8-18 set up a landing zone in a nearby field for Guthrie Air. A second helicopter was requested and sent to the HMAC LZ. Engine 8-3 responded and assisted at the HMAC LZ.

Stations 8-EMS and 18 (Nelson) were dispatched to a victim of a boating accident at Cowanesque Lake in Lawrence Township. It was reported that the patient was being brought to the shore at Tompkins Campground. A8-6 and Lawrence Twp PD responded. PD arrived first and reported that the patient had been brought back to the shore and requested a helicopter airbourne. Station 8 was redispatched to assist the helicopter. Engine 8-3 and Squad 8-18 both responded. Sq8-18 arrived with A8-6 to assist with EMS care and E8-3 established the LZ at the former baseball field at Tompkins Campground. E8-3s crew assisted the helicopter crew with loading the patient. All units cleared shortly after.

HELO ASSIST WITH GUTHRIE AIR

Station 8 was alerted this morning to assist Guthrie Air and Wellsboro ALS at the HMAC LZ. M-1 was on scene of a fall victim and requested a helicopter for transport to RPH. Engine 8-3 responded and set up the LZ. E8-3s crew assisted EMS with packaging the patient and loading into the helicopter.

VEHICLE FIRE ON BLISS ROAD

07/02/13  1625hrs
Station 8 was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire on Bliss Road in Lawrence Township. Engine 8-3 and Squad 8-18. Units arrived to to find a vehicle parked on the shoulder of the road with a report of nothing showing. It was determined that there was no fire and that it was possibly some sort of mechanical issue. All units cleared at 1646 hours.
