LAND RESCUE AND HELO ASSIST
08/21/13 1110hrs
Station 8 EMS and FD were dispatched to an area off of Boom Station Road in Lawrence Township for a logging
accident with 1 patient. Engine 8-2, Squad 8-18, and A8-6 responded. Crews had to travel approximately 1.5 miles into the
woods utilizing a logging trail to reach the patient. A helicopter was requested to transport to do the access and removal
time.Once there, it was confirmed that the patient was not trapped. Station 7 was then dispatched to establish an landing
zone on the east side of the incident. Due to difficulty finding the trail that exited to the east, the LZ was moved back
towards Boom Station Road. A8-6 went enroute to the LZ and met Guthrie Air.
SINGLE VEHICLE MVC IN LINDLEY

Stations 26 (Lindley) and 8 were dispatched this evening to the report of a vehicle rollover on the Kuhl
Road between Watson Creek and County Route 115. Engine 8-2 and Squad 8-18 responded. E8-2 arrived just after E89 had pulled
onto the scene. A passenger vehicle was found on its side in a ditch with obvious rollover damage. The two occupants
were found to be self extricated with minor injuries. E8-2s crew with E89 provided a patient assessment and BLS care. With
minor injuries and negative entrapment found, Station 8 units were released from the scene by Lindley Command.
TREES DOWN ON A SUNNY DAY
08/10/13 1324hrs & 2028hrs
Station 8 was dispatched first this afternoon for the report of a tree down on wires near Mystic View Lane
on the East Lawrence Rd in Lawrence Township. Squad 8-18 with 2 and Chief 8 (Scott) responded. Upon arrival, C8 found a tree
resting on two sets of power lines. Nearby residents had already blocked off the roadway and started a detour through Mystic
View Lane. Additional wires were found down in a yard just east of the incident due to the pressure that was placed on
the lines. C8 and Squad 8-18 set up traffic control devices and awaited for the electric company. Penelec arrived and
units provided additional traffic control as they worked to clean up the tree and the wires. Just after 8pm on this same evening,
Stations 8 and 18 (Nelson) were dispatched to the Shepards Creek Road in Lawrence Township for the report of a tree in the
roadway. Chief 18 (Mclean) responded and cancelled all units as he was able to remove the tree on his own.
VEHICLE INTO TREE

Station 8 was alerted early this morning for a single vehicle into a tree on the East Lawrence Road in Lawrence
Township. Chief 8 arrived and reported a vehicle into a tree with one occupant still inside the vehicle. Engine 8-2 and Ambulance
8-6 arrived and went to work clearing the tree from around the vehicle to access the patient. The patient was removed from
the vehicle and into EMS care. Fire units remained on scene to assist PSP and the tow service before clearing at 0132 hours.
