MOCK CRASH AT WHS

Station 8 with assistance from Stations 7 (Tioga), 25 (Valley Amb), 3(Elkland), Wellsboro ALS, Lawrence
Twp PD, Elkland PD, and Osceola Twp PD. The mock crash was presented with coordination of all of these agencies and planned
by FF Michael Baker as part of his senior project. It took place this week with the upcoming prom to show students the dangers
of unsafe driving with an emphasis on a zero tolerance for drinking and driving. Everyone worked together and put on
a great presentation. Thanks to all!
ONE VEHICLE CRASH ON ROUTE 287
04/18/13 2048hrs
Station 8 was dispatched tonight to a vehicle crash with unknown injuries on Route 287 in Lawrence Township
near the Dollar General. Engine 8-2 and Ambulance 8-6 responded. Upon arrival, units found a single vehicle that was off the
roadway after striking the guide rails. The operator was self extricated and assessed by EMS. The engine crew checked for
hazards and set up traffic control. Units remained on scene to assist the tow service and PA State Police.
STRUCTURE FIRE IN JACKSON TWP
04/13/13 1756hrs
Station 8 was dispatched today for a mutual aid fire on the Jackson Center Road in Jackson Township. Stations
12 (Millerton) and 13 (Daggett) were dispatched on the initial alarm. Chief 12-20 arrived and reported smoke showing and requested
a second alarm bringing Webbs Mills and Pine City FDs from Chemung County. 911 had notified C12-20 that Station 13 had not
reported any units responding and the request was made for Station 8 to be dispatched to assist on scene and setup a water
supply. E8-3 responded as command was reporting the fire under control. Station 8 was recalled shortly after at 1808 hours.
HMAC PRESENTS DONATION TO LFD

The members of Station 8 would like to thank HMAC of Lawrenceville for their generous donation. Donations
from outside sources are very much appreciated and help the Lawrenceville Fire Department complete specialized projects that
normally cannot be completed on our everyday budget. Thank you HMAC!
STORM CAUSES TREE DAMAGE
04/10/13 0339hrs
Station 8 was alerted for a non emergency response early this morning. A strong wind blew through the area
earlier in the evening causing trees, signs, and other loose objects to blow around. The dispatch reported a tree in the traffic
way of Doud Road. Chief 8 (Scott) responded to the area and located a tree partially blocking the roadway and held all units
in quarters. Lawrence Township road crew was notified and all units were cancelled.
VEHICLE CRASH IN LINDLEY
04/09/13 1543hrs
Stations 26 (Lindley) and 8 were dispatched to a tanker truck and passenger vehicle crash on Route 15 near
the Glick Road in Lindley. Chief 26 (Mcfall) arrived and reported all occupants were self extricated. C26 contacted E8-2 and
issued a recall prior to response.
MUTUAL AID FIRE IN THE WOODS
04/07/13 1111hrs
Stations 26 (Lindley) and 8 were dispatched just before noon today for the report of a wildfire in the woods
behind a residence. Patrol 8-4, Engine 8-2, Engine 8-3, and Squad 8-18 all responded. P8-4 arrived and began to stretch approximately
400' of forestry line into the woods on the south side of the fire to knockdown the fire. E8-2 provided water supply to P8-4.
Additional crews arrived from 8 and went to work extinguishing hot spots and making a fire line. Lindley Command requested
additional assistance from other nearby Steuben County departments for the fast moving fire. Crews worked for approximately
2.5 hours before clearing the scene and returning to station.
HELICOPTER ASSIST FOR VALLEY AMB
04/02/13 1755hrs
Station 8 was dispatched this evening to assist Guthrie Air and Valley Ambulance at the HMAC LZ in Lawrence
Township. Valley Ambulance was on scene of a vehicle crash in Nelson Township when they requested a helicopter for their patient.
Engine 8-3 and Ambulance 8-6 both responded. Units arrived and set up the LZ with the helicopter arriving shortly after. Units
assisted with loading of the patient and cleared the LZ at 1835 hours.
